The Movement of Movies

First, let me mention your previous posts. . . I enjoyed every single one of them. . . Chelsey, I love your spring break tradition with Alexis - you will always cherish those moments. Josh, your family tradition amazed me - I can imagine that you will never forget those fireworks! Megan, I too, have traditions that occur during Thanksgiving .. . that is such a wonderful time to reflect on the blessings in our lives. Kelsey, I think the tradition of your grandfather's gun is a very neat idea. . . what a special and unique way to remember your grandfather -- I'm sure it is an emotional and heartfelt moment. Clayton, I'm worried. lol . . . I think that you boys had better put an end to your tradition. . . do your parents know about this?! Nonetheless, thanks for sharing. And Monica, I'll be at your house next Sunday. lol I thought yours was so sweet until the last sentence and then you threw me for a loop! haha

As we continue to study American history and literature, I encourage to always consider what can be interpreted as being inspirational. . . whether it is the Puritans deciding to set sail for a new life on a new land, the Native Americans standing their ground and refusing to alter their ways of living, or JD Salinger making an attempt at portraying the life of a miserable teenager.

In the first post, you discussed where you hope your journey leads you and what you think will be your next destination. In the second post, you discussed the importance of tradition and what traditions you value in your family. In this post, we are doing to define inspiration that we have not received from a person or an event (both of which we've already discussed in class), but inspiration you discovered in a film or movie. Film can be extremely influential just as literature can be. . . there are movies that simply entertain us, but there are also movies that influence us, inspire us, motivate us, and really jumpstart our thinking machines. . .

I have so many movies in my life that have really stirred some emotions and cranked up my motivation meter! Just to name a few - Rocky, Dead Poets Society, Family Man, It's a Wonderful Life, The Pursuit of Happyness, Sound of Music, and one movie that we will view scenes of this Thursday and Friday if time allows. In this post, I would like for you to think of a movie that really impacted you in a positive manner. . . a movie that changed your perspective. . . share that movie with us and then explain with several reasons for why it inspired you.

  1. There are several movies that really inspire me. One of which is Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The first time i watched this movie was with my grandpa. He told me that is was his favorite movie. Now im sure you've seen this movie and it doesnt offer any inspiration at all. it's 100% laughs and stupid jokes. The reason the movie inspires me is because it made my grandpa laugh. If you knew my grandpa like I do you would understand. Hes the kind of guy who keeps a straight face during a funeral, doesnt laugh at the funniest joke in the world, and could win a staring contest against someone who could'nt blink. Yet this movie made him fall in the floor laughing. lol. I dont expect you to understand how moving it was to see him laugh but it was a very inspirational moment in my life.
On the other hand, Fireproof inspired me in a emotional was. If you have ever seen Fireproof you know it's a chick flick. I went to watch it with my girfriend kelsey and i have'nt forgoten a single second of it. One of the reasons this movie is so insporational is because of it detail in a young couples struggle to keep their relationship together. It gave me a wake-up call i probably needed alot worse then i thought. It made me realize i was doing a few things that i needed to fix if a wanted to have a real rlationship. So i owe a little to this movie when i tell people that i have the perfect relationship. Because is i had not seen this movie, i would have probably continued doing some of the things i had been doing and not realized the problems it was causing. I would recomend that movie to any guy with the guts to watch it.

  2. One movie that inspired me was A Walk to Remember. It made me relize someones life could be very short but you still have to live it to the fullest. In the movie the girl has cancer but she lives everyday like nothing is wrong with her. She falls in love with the bad boy in school and changes him into a good christian and in the end she dies and it says even tho she didnt live long but she did her job here on earth.

  3. I have watched many inspirational movies but this one sticks out the most. Pearl Harbor is my favorite movie. This movie is inspiratonal because it shows the courage of the soliders. It shows how brave you can be when it comes to life or death. This movie is also inspirational because it shows that true friendships can last no matter what. Sometimes this is hard to accomplish.

  4. Fireproof was also a movie inspirational to myself. It never really became a popular movie just mainly to church groups, but it inspired me in several ways. The main thing was keeping a relationship together.I have learned keeping God first,my boyfriend Josh second, and myself last is what makes relationships last forever. The movie also inspired me to read the bible with Josh.If i could make time to do any other thing during my day i definatly had time to make for God.
One other movie that inspired me was A Christmas Story .A Christmas Story was inspireing to me because no matter what ralphie goes through in the movie with his family, school, and bullies he always has hopes for his dream of the ride rider bb gun.It is also my favorite movie.

  5. One movie that has inspired me is Dazed and Confused, because it made me want to live every moment of my high school to the fullest. Dazed and Confused has made me appreciate everything that has happened since my first high school football practice. It has also taught me to always laugh and have a good time no matter what because you cant go back to high school.

  6. My all-time favorite, inspirational movie has to be Passion of the Christ. No, it is not a recent movie, but it enabled me to witness what Christ went through for me. Mel Gibson truly poured his heart and soul into creating this film. Although he was greatly criticized for most of the content, he held his head up high and defended the script. No matter how many times I watch it, I'm deeply touched to observe the life of Christ. After all of the crying and chills, it is best movie ever!! Anyone who hasn't seen it yet, (which most people have) need to watch it whenever they can!!

  7. A movie that inspire me was Pineapple Express. It inspired me to not do drugs or work for the government. The Premise is this guy who works for a government office witnesses a murder then drops his roach at the scene. The murderer then finds his roach aand wants to kill him, because he witnessed the murder. That inspired me to not do drugs or work for the government because it could get you killed.

Just like you Mrs. Hardin I am ispired by Rudy. Like him I too want to play collage ball< and same as him people tell me that i am too shor to go against larger linemen. But i do it most every game. I go up against men that ar six foot and im only five ten, and some can lift a undred pounds more than me. But i know that i can beat them. I tell myself on the first play this man is not better than me he has not worked as hard as me, and i know that i have more heart than them. Knowing that i have God with me i can take down any challenge before me, and with God i will play collage ball.

Walk the line is a great movie that inspired me. It showed me that no matter what you should never back down and never let anyone tell you what to do if you dont think its right. Also that we all sometimes gotta face the music, even if its not the good kind
